The government has agreed extend its 'Healthy Start Scheme' to infants from migrant backgrounds; conceding prior to a Judicial review hearing. The scheme, which provides free vitamins and food vouchers for children, was available to those on mainstream benefits and so excluded some of the poorest children, as migrants are ineligible for mainstream benefits.
