Get ready for 'E-Day'

October 2017's Top Tip…

Although the amendments to CPR 47 and the costs practice direction have yet to be published, the Senior Costs Judge recently announced to the Costs Law Reports Conference  that the new model electronic bill of costs will finally be introduced from 6 April 2018.  The bill will be mandatory for Part 7 multi-track claims –  except where fixed costs apply and except for litigants in person.

The senior costs judge anticipates that the Costs Office will be fully digital within two years, making paper assessments a thing of the past.  We look forward to bringing you further news on the new Bill format and the consequent changes to your time recording systems that you may need to consider, as soon as the CPR amendments have been published.
